You will forgive us this provocation which consists in beginning a biography of the jazzmen with that of a white musician.
All the musicians of jazz are not black, it is a fact, and even those of the origins since Bix Beiderbecke, died in 1931 at the 28 years age, fact part of the pioneers.

Bix Beiderbecke

The interest of this musician lies in his talents of type-setter which show from their multiple inspirations that the jazz is nourished of all that falls to him under the hand, without particular criterion of culture, of quality, style.

Just like Charlie Parker will improvise thereafter its more marvellous chorus starting from the harmonies of the love songs of the time, it is Stravinsky, Debussy or Ravel which will inspire Bix Beiderbecke in rather unexpected compositions for the time. (“In mist”… or “In the dark has”).
